Abstract

Cet article met l'accent sur la valeur symbolique des plans. Il présente le développement de Volvo, le fabricant d'automobiles suédois de 1926 à 1956, c'est-à-dire depuis l'origine jusqu'au départ de son fondateur Assar Gabrielsson. Les performances réelles ne correspondirent pas aux plans établis initialement par son fondateur. Assar Gabrielsson s'accrocha toutefois à sa vision et la maintint en vie en dépit des déceptions et des échecs en réinterprétant constamment la réalité pour qu'elle s'accorde avec ses illusions stratégiques. Celles-ci finalement se concrétisèrent.
