Abstract

The question of disarmament for development raises the question of the dilemma between butter and cannon. However, economic studies do not always confirm this expression, because of the complexity of complex economic and social relations at the international level. The classical economic theory is not very advanced on this point, because often disarmament is conceived as a political factor, which can have positive effects in the long term, whereas Marxism refutes a disarmament within the framework of a producing capitalism. inequalities and exploitation. Issues relating to import substitution, development strategies through the opening of economic frontiers, the importance of military R & D (research and development) on civil R & D, the difficult international assistance relating to in the rich countries do not always find answers applicable to all the particular cases., While disarmament is highly desirable, it must not limit an important good in the lives of men: security.
