Analyse économique du lancement du contrat MATIF

Abstract

Cet article présente les résultats d'une analyse économique sur les trois premières années de fonctionnement du marché et quelques idées sur les perspectives d'avenir. L'analyse porte sur trois questions simples mais fondamentales : le prix à terme formé est-il de qualité, le prix à terme conduit-il les prix sur le marché physique, et enfin, le contrat à terme permet-il une réelle gestion du risque ? Les réponses étant développées, une troisième partie traite de la demande de marché à terme en France et dans l'Union européenne ainsi que de l'offre potentielle. L'adéquation de la demande et de l'offre est en effet une condition nécessaire à la qualité des services apportés par ces outils.
