Abstract

La mer Méditerranée, avec la mer Noire occupent une surface d'environ 3 000 000 Km2. Étant donne sa position géographique, cette zone est un lieu de conflit d'utilisation: il s'agit de conflits d'ordre ergonomique, politique ou militaire: 22 états ont directement accès a ses eaux. Les captures en Méditerranée représentent environ 1 900 000 tonnes par an avec un accroissement de 136 pour cent sur 20 ans. Cette industrie emploie environ 250 000 hommes. Les conditions d'exploitation font qu'il s'agit essentiellement d'activités de type national dont les résultats financiers sont fort inégaux, ce qui assure des conditions de rentabilité de l'outil de production pas toujours très fortes. Mais des transformations parfois importantes portant sur des structures d'accueil, les outils de production, l'aménagement des espaces côtiers, une meilleure formation des pêcheurs pourraient améliorer largement les résultats obtenus.
