Abstract

Le Programme d'Action Communautaire pour la Mobilité des Étudiants (ERASMUS) a été créé par décision du Conseil le 15 juin t987. le, programme concerne tous les établissements d'enseignement supérieur et tous les domaines d'études. L'objectif essentiel du programme ERASMUS est de développer la mobilité des étudiants et de promouvoir la coopération inter universitaire dans I'Union Européenne et avec les pays de l'Association Européenne de Libre Échange (AELE). Ies programmes de mobilité d'étudiants organisés dans le cadre d'ERASMUS (Programmes interuniversitaires de Coopération ; PIC) offrent aux étudiants de l'enseignement supérieur la possibilité d'entreprendre une période substantielle d'études (au minimum 3 mois) dans un autre pays, période entièrement reconnue par l'institution d'origine comme faisant partie intégrante de leur formation. Ies PIC ERASMUS peuvent également inclure d'autres activités comme des échanges d'enseignants, le développement en commun de nouveaux curricula ou des programmes intensifs. Dans leur ensemble, tous les PIC constituent le Réseau Universitaire Européen. En 1989, le Programme Européen de Transfert d'Unités Capitalisables (ECTS) a été introduit, dans ERASMUS. C'est un projet pilote pour expérimenter le transfert d'unités capitalisables en Europe comme un instrument de reconnaissance académique.
