Abstract

Cet article s'intéresse à l'impact des TIC sur la santé au travail, question peu abordée par la littérature. Les auteurs examinent les éléments d'un paradoxe : un accroissement des revendications sur la santé au travail alors que les entreprises utilisent des TIC réputées être des technologies « douces ». Les auteurs formulent quatre hypothèses heuristiques pour comprendre ce phénomène et les utilisent pour analyser un terrain empirique : l'introduction d'un système de guidage vocal dans une société logistique. Ils dégagent de ce cas des interprétations générales montrant que si l'usage de la technologie tend à simplifier le travail et à rationaliser le geste professionnel, il conduit à accélérer et répéter les efforts, ce qui accroît la densité et la pénibilité du travail.
