Abstract

L'algue Undaria Pinnatifida se consomme sous forme de Wakame. Cette production est effectuee en Asie du Sud-Est. En France, on commence a maitriser la technique d'algo-culture de cette espece. Le marche europeen etant relativement etroit, les possibilites de debouches en Amerique du Nord permettent d'envisager avec un optimisme mesure le developpement de cette activite. L'evaluation de la consommation nord-americaine actuelle et a l'horizon 1993 a ete effectuee a l'aide d'un modele combinant le calcul matriciel et l'elaboration d'une fonction de consommation evaluative. Les conditions specifiques a l'importation aux Etats-Unis et au Canada ont ete identifiees. Une liste des importateurs et distributeurs a ete constituee.
