Influence de la perception de soi et des rôles traditionnels dans les décisions familiales touristiques

Abstract

Cette étude a pour objectif de mesurer l'impact du rôle traditionnel distinctif des époux, de la perception de soi et des différentes phases du processus de décision sur la perception de l'influence relative dans le cadre du choix familial d'une activité de loisir. Dans ce but, une enquête a été réalisée auprès de couples en visite dans un important parc naturel du nord-ouest des Etats-Unis. Les époux ont été invités séparément à apprécier leur influence respective, ainsi que celle de leur conjoint et de leur(s) enfant(s), sur différents aspects de la prise de décision les ayant conduits dans ce parc. Les couples ont été interrogés avant et après leur visite. L'analyse indique que: 1 / les conjoints tendent à considérer leur influence comme étant égale; 2 / certains rôles traditionnels liés au sexe semblent avoir un effet sur l'influence déclarée dans la prise de décision; 3 / le biais dû à la «modestie» est plus fréquent que celui dû à une attitude dominatrice («vanité»); et 4 j il existe, pour les femmes sans enfant seulement, une corrélation positive entre l'évaluation de l'expérience vécue au centre de loisir et le rapport d'influence dans la famille. Les implications de l'étude font, par ailleurs, l'objet d'une discussion.
