Abstract

Ce chapitre d'ouvrage analyse l'évolution au cours des vingt dernières années, du marché mondial des graines, huiles et tourteaux en terme de concurrence entre produits et entre pays fournisseurs. Il étudie les déterminants de la demande mondiale en matières grasses et en matières riches en protéines ainsi que le rôle de la trituration. Les interactions entre les divers marchés sont en particulier caractérisées par des multiplicateurs de prix de court et de long terme qui permettent de mettre en évidence des produits leaders et de mesurer l'intensité et les délais de réponses à des chocs exogènes. L'évolution des échanges mondiaux de ces produits est mise en relation avec les grandes étapes des relations internationales Nord-Sud et Est-Ouest. La conclusion traite des problèmes posés par la réforme de la PAC et les accords du GATT ainsi que par l'apparition de nouveaux clients au sein des pays en développement.
