Abstract

Cet article analyse l'évolution de la conjoncture mondiale des marchés des graines et huiles oléagineuses au cours de la campagne 1996-1997 et les perspectives pour la campagne suivante. L'huile de soja, grâce en particulier aux bonnes récoltes enregistrées aux Etats-Unis et au Brésil, reste l'huile la plus consommée dans le monde, mais subit de plus en plus la concurrence des huiles de palme provenant de la Malaisie et de l'Indonésie. Sur l'ensemble de la campagne 1996-1997, les prix des principales huiles fluides se sont inscrits en sensible baisse alors que ceux de l'huile de palme restent très fermes compte tenu d'une forte demande mondiale. Les prix des deux huiles concrètes, sans grands changements par rapport à la campagne précédente, sont restés à des niveaux élevés.
