La dynamique spatiale de l'agriculture bretonne : analyse de la construction de bâtiments agricoles de 1986 à 1997

Abstract

Pour cerner l'ampleur de la dynamique spatiale des productions animales (porcs, bovins et volailles) en Bretagne, l'article propose une analyse fine de l'évolution de la construction des bâtiments d'élevage correspondants en longue période, ces investissements constituant un indicateur intéressant de la dynamique agricole sur un territoire donné. La maille géographique est le canton et l'analyse est menée de 1986 à 1997. Il y a un recul sensible du rythme des constructions autorisées à partir de 1994, en particulier pour les porcheries. L'évolution d'ensemble se traduit par un renforcement des bassins intensifs en porcs et volailles bien établis dès 1988 et révèle un contraste vigoureux entre l'Ouest et l'Est bretons. Il existe un contraste extrêmement marqué entre les cantons en zone d'excédent structurel (ZES) et hors ZES pour les porcheries et les poulaillers ; il est peu apparent pour les étables. Enfin, la taille moyenne des constructions dans les cantons en ZES, beaucoup plus importante au début de la période, a tendance à s'aligner sur celle des cantons hors ZES.
