Abstract

Ce que sont les revenus non agricoles des ménages d'agriculteurs dépend des choix conceptuels et méthodologiques relatifs à l'unité d'analyse : le ménage et le revenu. Les notions et nomenclatures adoptées varient : l'unité domestique étant un ménage-budget ou un ménage-logement, le ménage étant agricole dans un sens étroit ou un sens large ; le revenu courant pouvant être plus ou moins élargi ; la frontière entre revenu agricole et autres revenus familiaux dépendant de plusieurs conventions. Les différences dans les définitions influencent l'ampleur, les causes et les effets donnés à la croissance en cours des revenus que les agriculteurs tirent de sources non agricoles, de même que les comparaisons faites à cet égard entre pays.
