Abstract

Les grands fonds d'informations des institutions statistiques (enquêtes, données de panels) peuvent aujourd'hui être gérés sur des stations de travail UNIX de laboratoire. La solution présentée s'appuie sur la théorie du modèle relationnel et reprend des recommandations issues des travaux de recherche réalisés dans les années 70 autour des prototypes SYSTEME R d'IBM et INGRES de l'Université de Berkeley. Cette communication réalisée pour l'Association Française des Utilisateurs d'UNIX et des systèmes ouverts, répertorie les fonctionnalités attendues d'un système de gestion de bases de données statistiques, et présente les résultats obtenus avec le système INGRES pour gérer les enquêtes et panels de consommation alimentaire.
