Abstract

This work seeks to study how interactions between forms of control orient the behavior of actors. For this, we decide to study a case of behavioral non-conformity: the Kerviel case. Based on the rich documentation resulting from the judicial process of the conflict between Société Générale and its former trader, we bring to light a situation of contradiction between technocratic and socio-ideological controls within Société Générale. Our discussion leads us to highlight the role played by the socio-ideological control in this case and more generally its importance in the orientation of the behaviors of the actors, but also on the effectiveness of the technocratic controls.
