Abstract

Au travers du cadre d'analyse proposé par Ghemawat en 2001, cet article évalue l'incidence des différentes dimensions de la distance individuellement et par la suite simultanément sur le choix du mode de rapprochement. L'étude menée porte sur 203 opérations de rapprochement effectuées par des entreprises françaises avec des partenaires localisés dans le monde entier. Les résultats montrent que chaque dimension de la distance prise individuellement affecte le choix du mode de rapprochement. L'analyse des modèles globaux révèlent, toutefois, que les dimensions administrative et économique jouent un rôle prépondérant dans ce choix, contrairement aux distances culturelle et géographique.
