Abstract

Paru dans la jeune collection « Manuels Repères », l'ouvrage pourrait prêter à confusion : disons dès l'abord que ce n'est pas un manuel de comptabilité nationale, que, s'il accorde à l'expérience française (voire à une école française opposée à celles des Pays-Bas ou des États-Unis) une place centrale, il traite de la comptabilité nationale dans le monde entier et surtout que l'histoire qu'il relate commence, pour l'essentiel, après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. On n'y trouvera que quelques rappels sur les estimations précédentes du revenu national – rappels toutefois assortis, comme tous les autres points traités par allusion, de substantielles notes bibliographiques qui font une partie de la valeur de l'ouvrage. Ce qui intéresse l'auteur, c'est ce qui a occupé une grande partie de sa vie professionnelle : la comptabilité nationale construite dans chaque pays pendant les Trente Glorieuses et l'harmonisation internationale dont elle fait de plus en plus l'objet (...).
