Les origines disciplinaires des sciences de gestion en France: retour sur une controverse

Abstract

La gestion comme discipline scientifique a connu au moins trois états antérieurs aux travaux du XXIe siècle, qui sont ici précisés. Loin d'être continu, le passage entre la science des affaires et les sciences de gestion s'est opéré au cours de ruptures épistémologiques précises. La première a permis l'évolution de la gestion empirique vers une première systématisation du savoir commercial par les économistes classiques. La deuxième a favorisé la naissance du management scientifique avec Taylor et Fayol. La troisième a consisté en la transformation de l'économie privée des entreprises en un ensemble appelé "sciences de gestion" au sein des universités françaises. A chaque fois des économistes, des praticiens et des ingénieurs ont été au centre de ces ruptures, comme le prouve l'histoire institutionnelle de la discipline pour le cas français.
