Abstract

This article, based on research in progress, aims to answer the following research question: "To what extent do current technological architectures have the capability to manage big data?" Based on a case study in the pharmaceutical sector, we argue that nowadays big data requires a technological leap that businesses will have to make and which will be of the same magnitude as that which was required for internet integration in companies.
