L'évolution du commerce mondial des bois tropicaux : enjeux, stratégies, politiques

Abstract

Pour des raisons tenant plus à l'évolution économique qu'au souci de protéger les ressources dites naturelles, le commerce des bois tropicaux a entamé depuis la fin des années 70 une restructuration qui s'est accélérée à la fin des années 80 et qui se traduit déjà par une réduction significative des flux en matière, ainsi que par des changements importants dans le niveau de transformation des produits concernés et dans les destinations des exportations. Cette recomposition des échanges, qui répondait aux stratégies des producteurs et importateurs de la zone Pacifique, lesquels dominent le marché mondial des bois tropicaux, a été accompagnée par des politiques étatiques directives rendant compte de ces intérêts.
