Abstract

" Quelle est la part du chômage en France qui s'explique par le déficit d'emplois, celle qui est frictionnelle, celle qui proviendrait de salaires trop élevés ou de prestations sociales trop généreuses ? " est une question importante pour la conduite de la politique économique et celle des réformes structurelles. C'est la question centrale de l'article que Guy Laroque, chef du Département des études et des synthèses économiques de l'INSEE, et Bernard Salanié, chef de la Division croissance et politiques macroéconomiques, viennent de publier dans le numéro de juillet 2000 d'Économie et Statistique, la revue de l'INSEE. Cet article, intitulé : " Une décomposition du non-emploi en France ", a eu un certain retentissement, compte tenu du caractère tranché de ses conclusions (...).
