Les Entrepreneurs Alternatifs En Reconquete De Nouvelles Legitimites

Abstract

En tant que petite entreprise, l'exploitation agricole est conduite à s'intégrer aux valeurs de son environnement pour espérer perdurer. Comme toute organisation elle doit prouver sa légitimité concurrentielle, mais également être reconnue par les autres acteurs sociaux. En milieu rural, cette légitimité sociale est fortement dépendante de la légitimité territoriale. Il est ainsi possible de dresser des types d'entrepreneurs ruraux selon leurs niveaux de légitimités concurrentielles et territoriales. Bien qu'on observe un début de changement, les projets atypiques pourtant plus en phase avec les demandes actuelles (produits de terroir, qualité, accueil touristique, pluriactivité...), restent marginalisés par la profession. Le secteur agricole historiquement construit sur le schéma industriel spécialisé, peine à se remettre en question. La réactualisation d'un échantillon d'exploitations aux stratégies alternatives suivies depuis 1981 montre comment des entrepreneurs atypiques ont manœuvré avec les différentes formes de légitimités pour persister. Avec le temps, ils ont su trouver des légitimités économiques et sociales hors de leur profession pour se faire accepter progressivement par leur territoire. Ils conquièrent aujourd'hui une légitimité professionnelle alors que la pression sociétale se fait plus insistante sur le secteur agricole.
