Abstract

Geradezu enthusiastisch feiert die französische Presse - von "La Croix" bis "L ́Humanité" - seit seinem Erscheinen im vergangenen Herbst ein Buch, das in der Bundesrepublik bislang kaum zur Kenntnis genommen wurde und dessen Entstehung hierzulande auch schwer vorstellbar erscheint. Schon der Titel "Le nouvel esprit du capitalisme" dürfte eher befremden, obgleich die Autoren - Luc Boltanski und Ève Chiapello - mit ihm einem deutschen Klassiker ihre Reverenz erweisen: Max Webers "Die protestantische Ethik und der ‚Geist' des Kapitalismus".
