Abstract

Linked to international public management (NPM) change in health field, physicians' job changed. Does it mean hybridization or polarization? Does change explain physician's role tensions? In order to answer those questions the author observed doctors in few French hospitals during 10 years. It appears that physicians have new job and not only care than before. So they encounter role tensions because of those new missions. The measurement of role conflict shows that French physicians included in our sample feel higher role conflicts than we found into literature.
