Abstract

Copyright has been confronted head-on with the transformation that has begun to take hold in the arts industry. As a result, every term of the definition of copyright must be re-evaluated and revised : the creative process, categories of reference, and modes of consumption are all being radically transformed ; concepts such as the artwork, creators, original creation, reproduction, etc., are in flux. Owing to changes in distribution methods, administrative questions regarding the applicability and implementation of copyright are having a greater effect on trends in copyright than any economic or legal principles. This article identifies several ideal models that correspond to various existing transfer methods and describes common organizational and remuneration practices in each sector of the culture industry.
