Abstract

Le nombre de personnes de plus de 60 ans en situation de dépendance varie de 1,24 million si l'on se réfère au nombre de bénéficiaires de l'Allocation personnalisée d'autonomie, à près de 3,3 millions selon une mesure épidémiologique. Le coût engendré par la dépendance pour les soins, l'hébergement et l'aide informelle se situe entre 41 et 45 milliards d'euros par an, dont 23,5 milliards, soit un peu plus d'un point de PIB, relèvent de la dépense publique. Cette dernière devrait augmenter de l'ordre de + 0,3 à + 0,7 point de PIB d'ici 2040, compte tenu des projections démographiques et épidémiologiques.
