Abstract

Dans cet article, nous analysons le rôle des plateformes de crowdlending dans l'intermédiation financière. Ces plateformes jouent un rôle de courtier, permettant la rencontre sur Internet entre une offre et une demande de financement, selon son risque et sa maturité. Contrairement aux banques, les plateformes de crowdlending ne font pas de transformation de maturité et de risque. Cependant elles sont susceptibles de créer des marchés secondaires qui rendent possible l'échange de contrats de prêt. Certaines tentent aussi d'offrir des revenus fixes aux prêteurs. Les régulateurs doivent s'assurer que les plateformes agissent dans l'intérêt des prêteurs, afin que cette activité d'intermédiation soit réalisée de façon efficace, tout en limitant les risques pour la stabilité du système financier.
