El impacto del programa Juntos sobre la nutrición temprana

Abstract

Según cifras oficiales, la desnutrición crónica en niños menores de 5 años en el Perú disminuyó del 28,5% en 2007 al 23,2% en 2010 (criterio de la Organización Mundial de la Salud – OMS). Esta disminución se observó para diversos grupos poblacionales, incluyendo al segmento de familias favorecidas por el programa Juntos (ver gráfico siguiente). Cabe preguntarse hasta qué punto la disminución observada en la desnutrición infantil en los hogares afiliados a Juntos es consecuencia del programa y no parte de la tendencia a nivel nacional impulsada por la mejora en el bienestar de los hogares más pobres.
