Are the Human Capital and the Labour Market Relevants in the Generational Accounting? The Spanish Case

Abstract

This work intends to demonstrate the importance of introducing the agents' heterogeneity in the models of generational accounting and in all those who want to measure the effects of an ageing population. In the present case, the educational level and the labour situation (especially the women's case) appear as fundamental elements to realise a correct exercise. In this paper a methodology that considers this heterogeneity for generating projections to be used in generational accounting models is presented.
