Note: [English Title] Economic Impact of Cultural Activities [English Abstract] Cultural capital has often been discussed in terms of economic development, social welfare and social integration, and there is a significant relationship between cultural capital stock and economic development. Nowadays, even though many countries have achieved the high economic growth rates necessary for economic progress, they still have not attained the desired level of human development and social welfare. Cultural capital is essential to this, as it includes intellectual capital, art, beliefs, moral values, traditions, ideas, business practices, and customs that are shared by society, all of which serve to increase the output and productivity of physical and human capital. Cultural heritage, art, media and creative industries are thus an integral part of cultural industry, which in turn is involved in the production and consumption of cultural goods. Cultural industry is constantly interacting with other industries and this creates a multiplier effect in terms of higher income levels and employment, while also providing social benefits for people as individuals and as members of society This study examines the potential economic and social benefits of cultural goods and services for the Turkish economy through the use of an Input-Output Model. Taking cultural industry as its target of research, this study calculates multiplier coefficients in a Turkish context and uses the results of a survey conducted by Istanbul Culture Art Foundation to demonstrate potential employment and tax benefits to local economy [English Keywords] Cultural Capital, Cultural Economics, Economic Impact Analysis, Input-Output Model, Multiplier Coefficients
