Note: [English Title] SOUTHERN GAS CORRIDOR: GAME THEORY IN THE NEW ENERGY ORDER, EUROPEAN ENERGY SECURITY, RUSSIA, TURKEY AND CAUCASUS [English Abstract] Southern Gas Corridor is a very important issue in energy policies of the European Union. According to Alhaiji (2007), the biggest contribution of the oil crises in 1970’s to the literature is “Energy Supply Security”. In Alhaiji’s paper, the term of Energy Security is defined as a term which is used by Western Countries. It should be said that European Union’s perspective on Energy Security has changed especially after the Russian-Ukrainian energy crisis. Political instability in the Middle East and energy strategies of Russia-Gazprom forced the European Union to seek new and secure energy suppliers. The European Union is highly disturbed by Gazprom’s policies. Moreover, the European Union imports more than 30% of its energy consumption and this is a serious threat in terms of energy security. In this sense, the Southern Gas Corridor becomes a new and secure energy supplier. In the “New Energy Order”, Turkey is a gamer as country of transit. The aim of this paper is to discuss the importance of Southern Gas Corridor in the New Energy Order within the framework of Game Theory. Moreover the crisis between Gazprom and Ukraine and the South Stream which is a counter-strategy against the Southern Gas Corridor will be discussed within the framework of different game theorical models.
