Sociaal-economische kenmerken van werknemers en zelfstandigen in sectoren getroffen door de lockdown

Abstract

Niet iedereen wordt even erg getroffen door de inkomensschok van de COVID-19 pandemie. Data voor analyses wie meer of minder verliest komen pas met vertraging ter beschikking. In dit LES gebruiken we reeds beschikbare data om een voorlopig beeld te schetsen van de differentiële impact van de schok. De zwaar getroffen sectoren zijn: horeca, kunst, amusement en recreatie, en detailhandel non-food. In die sectoren werken meer mensen met een kwetsbaar sociaaleconomisch profiel: jongeren, kortgeschoolden, alleenstaanden, huurders, werknemers die deeltijds werken, en zelfstandigen. In die zwaar getroffen sectoren liggen de lonen lager. De mensen die in de zwaar getroffen sectoren werken, leven in gezinnen met een hoger armoederisico en met minder financiële reserves om periodes van inkomensdaling te overbruggen.
