Abstract

In this concept note authors aim to put forth a broad canvas of the various issues that need to be considered and positions that need to be formulated, in order to argue that it is possible to make Universal access to health care a reality in India in the coming decade. Universal Access to Health Care in India is a social necessity and Health Care should be regarded as a basic human right. For this purpose a clear understanding of UAHC and it’s implications is needed, and the experience of other countries will have to be studied, and lessons learned from these experiences need to be applied within the context of specificities of the Indian situation.
