How can IT raise the Productivity linked with Workplace Organization in Japan?(in Japanese)

Abstract

This paper examines the impact of information and communications technologies (IT) on the productivity in Japan linked with workplace organizations, for example decentralization or centralization of decision rights. Main conclusion is that workplace organizations between firms (for example change the relationship with business partner) are more important than within the firm. Because the official authority and the job specifications are not so clear in the Japanese companies, workplace organizations within the firm can not link with IT innovation efficiently. Secondary, this paper shows that the job training of employee associated with IT and the diffusion of Telework have the positive effects on productivity in the case that the business process has become paperless and the relationship with business partner has changed.
