Presenta una caracterizacion del desastre, y acciones emprendidas por las autoridades; estimaciones sobre la magnitud y alcance de los danos; un analisis de las probables repercusiones sobre las tendencias que ya marcaban la evolucion de la economia mexicana; y algunas apreciaciones sobre la forma en que la comunidad internacional puede apoyar a Mexico en las tareas de reconstruccion.
