Distribución espacial de la población, factores ambientales y salud en Perú

Abstract

El examen de los cambios en la distribución espacial de la población peruana se orienta a identificar aquellos aspectos que pueden incidir sobre las condiciones de salud y sobre la prestación de servicios. El énfasis se sitúa en la migración interna, los desplazamientos de población, la concentración en áreas urbanas, la ocupación de las regiones de la selva y el desplazamiento de áreas rurales. Estos se discuten en función de tres aspectos que pueden modificar las condiciones de salud: a) aquellos cambios que aumentan y provocan la aparición de condiciones asociadas a factores de riesgo para la salud; b) los cambios que aumentan la presión sobre los servicios de salud ya sea porque cambian el acceso a la atención médica o modifican la eficiencia y la calidad de los servicios en función del aumento de población; c) los cambios que limitan la posibilidad de organizar un modelo adecuado de prestación de servicios.
