Abstract

El estudio se orienta a acercar el paradigma de la descentralización y el paradigma de la salud en el marco de la realidad chilena. El énfasis se situa en: a) la implementación del proceso de municipalización de la salud en la década de los 80 y en las evaluaciones realizadas entre 1982 y 1990; b) los datos empíricos referidos a los ámbitos de los recursos humanos, físicos y financieros, los procesos de los resultados obtenidos así como una discusión de las percepciones que tienen de la municipalización en el contexto actual: perspectivas, oportunidades y amenazas que enfrenta el proceso y lineamientos estratégicos para favorecerlo; d) el papel del municipio en la salud entendida en su concepción integral.
