Mujeres encuestadas: caracteristicas generales

Abstract

El trabajo presenta en forma sumaria una descripcion de las caracteristicas demograficas y socio-economicas de las mujeres entrevistadas en los estudios PECFAL-Rural en Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico y Peru en terminos de las siguientes variables: la edad y el status marital; la fecundidad y la mortalidad infantil; la residencia, socializacion y experiencia migratoria; la urbanizacion y el nivel de vida; la situacion laboral; la situacion educacional; el contacto con los medios de comunicacion de masas; la adopcion de la planificacion de la familia. En general se aprecia que los indicadores tienden a variar de modo tal que los paises se ordenan de acuerdo a los niveles de desarrollo relativo con Costa Rica en primer lugar y Peru en el ultimo; Colombia y Mexico exhiben posiciones intermedias.
