Situacion y perspectivas de la juventud en America Latina

Abstract

El trabajo examina la situacion, perspectivas y necesidades de la juventud latinoamericana en el contexto de las transformaciones de las ultimas decadas. Tiene un caracter preliminar y se inserta en un periodo de reflexion intelectual sobre el papel de este grupo etareo en la busqueda de nuevas imagenes de desarrollo. Previo la discusion de la idoneidad de los criterios basicos para definir a la adolescencia, se analiza con detencion: a) el peso numerico de este grupo en los diversos contextos nacionales; b) la insercion de los jovenes en el mundo del empleo; c) el trabajo femenino juvenil y su creciente importancia; d) el desempleo y subempleo entre los jovenes; e) las transformaciones educacionales y su impacto en las nuevas generaciones; f) los jovenes en situaciones de marginalidad; g) la complejidad de la situacion actual y las perspectivas futuras, revelando la importancia de las relaciones generacionales; h) el papel de la juventud en los procesos de cambio.
