Abstract

INTRODUCCIÓN El presente trabajo compila, sintetiza y articula una serie de estudios de campo y elaboraciones teóricas desarrolladas durante los últimos tres años. El conjunto de preguntas que guió la serie de investigaciones reconoce como eje la preocupación por el impacto del `diseño institucional' en el desempeño y productividad de las organizaciones, muy particularmente aquellas orientadas a la producción de bienes industriales. Se trataba de avanzar en la identificación y especificación de los difusos mecanismos que interrelacionan las características del marco cultural de la organización, los sistemas de motivación e incentivo del personal, y las formas de control social interno, con la eficiencia y competitividad de las empresas.
