El procedimiento del hijo previo para estimar la mortalidad en la niñez

Abstract

La publicación reúne un conjunto de documentos que muestran la evolución de la aplicación del método del hijo previo en la estimación de la mortalidad infantil en los países de la región. Los dos primeros documentos describen la experiencia latinoamericana en la aplicación del procedimiento del hijo previo a la vez que se discuten los errores y sesgos en los procedimientos de la estimación de la mortalidad infantil a partir de dicho método. Los trabajos restantes describen y evalúan la aplicación del método en Bolivia y Honduras, en Argentina y la República Dominicana a la vez que proponen un programa computacional para el manejo de los datos del método del hijo previo.
