Abstract

El volumen proporciona un examen de los resultados del Censo Experimental de Reducciones Mapuches, realizado en localidades de la IX Region de Chile (Temuco) en 1988, en una muestra de 12.952 personas y 2.714 hogares. Previo la discusion de los antecedentes, el analisis se centra en: a) las caracteristicas demograficas: fecundidad, mortalidad, migracion, crecimiento y composicion de la poblacion; b) mortalidad y atencion de salud materno infantil; c) caracteristicas educacionales: analfabetismo, escolaridad, lengua hablada; d) caracteristicas economicas: organizacion economica, participacion en la actividad economica, caracteristicas de la poblacion activa, distribucion ocupacional; e) vivienda y hogar: tipos de vivienda, saneamiento ambiental, composicion familiar, lengua hablada y tamano del hogar. El anexo incluye un ejemplar del cuestionario utilizado en la investigacion censal.
