Estimaciones y proyecciones de poblacion 1950-2025

Abstract

Las proyecciones de la poblacion argentina que se presentan para el periodo 1950-2025 corresponden a una nueva version basada en los datos del censo de 1980, tomando en cuenta las tendencias recientes de la fecundidad, segun las estadisticas vitales. Se formularon cuatro hipotesis de fecundidad. Se supuso un saldo migratorio internacional nulo a partir de 1975. Se incluyen indicadores demograficos, proyeccion de la poblacion en edad escolar, de la poblacion urbana y rural, y de la poblacion economicamente activa. De acuerdo con la hipotesis recomendada, la poblacion del pais, que en 1985 era de 30.3 millones, llegaria a 36 millones en el ano 2000 y a 46 millones en el 2025 (p19). La distribucion por edad configura una estructura envejecida en el ano 2025. Se destaca un aumento de la poblacion menor de 15 anos debido al incremento experimentado por la fecundidad entre 1970 y 1980. Con posterioridad a 1980 continua el proceso historico de envejecimiento de la poblacion.
