Abstract

El cuestionario de la EDENH-II contiene una serie de preguntas destinadas a medir la mortalidad de Honduras. Algunas de ellas permiten estimar la mortalidad en los primeros anos de vida, y otras la mortalidad adulta, por sexo. Las tecnicas que se pueden aplicar no solamente dan acceso a la obtencion de estimaciones de la mortalidad de un momento dado, sino tambien hacen posible recabar informacion sobre la tendencia de la mortalidad en los anos anteriores a la encuesta. En una primera parte se presentan las estimaciones de la mortalidad infantil y juvenil. Luego, se examina el comportamiento de la mortalidad adulta estimada a partir de preguntas retrospectivas y del numero de defunciones ocurridas en los anos anteriores a la encuesta. Por ultimo, se presenta un resumen de las estimaciones obtenidas, comparandolas con las estimadas con otras fuentes de informacion.
