Las reuniones intergubernamentales sobre poblacion

Abstract

Descripcion del contenido, principales conclusiones y recomendaciones de las reuniones intergubernamentales de poblacion celebradas en la region en torno al Ano Mundial de Poblacion. A raiz de la Conferencia Mundial de Poblacion de Bucarest, se desarrollo en las distintas regiones un proceso de discusion sobre los temas de poblacion que, a nivel de America Latina, condujo a una Primera Reunion Preparatoria (San Jose 1974) y luego a la Segunda Reunion Latinoamericana sobre Poblacion (Mexico 1975). Esta ultima analizo el Plan de Accion Mundial sobre Poblacion (PAMP), aprobado en Bucarest en el marco de las caracteristicas socio-demograficas de la region. Posteriormente, CELADE organizo la Primera Reunion Tecnica de Organismos Gubernamentales Responsables de las Politicas de Poblacion en America Latina (San Jose 1976) destinada a identificar los problemas surgidos en la aplicacion de las recomendaciones de la reunion de Mexico y proponer soluciones operativas a los mismos.
