Abstract

Este documento forma parte del Proyecto Estrategias de Desarrollo y Politicas de Poblacion en America Latina y tiene por objeto presentar una resena de las relaciones entre desarrollo economico y estructura del empleo por sectores productivos asi como algunos factores que condicionan la eficacia de las politicas de empleo. El supuesto basico es que la estructura del empleo al condicionar la localizacion geografica y cultural de la poblacion incide tambien en su dinamica. En la primera parte se describen las principales hipotesis elaboradas en relacion a los cambios que experimenta la estructura del empleo en la region. La segunda parte discute algunos enfoques recientes sobre los problemas distributivos y las politicas de empleo, considerados utiles para la definicion de nuevas estrategias
