Abstract

Este estudio desarrolla los principales aspectos de la problematica del empleo industrial y la migracion interna en los paises en desarrollo analizando el caso concreto de Chile (1960- 1971). El primer capitulo incluye un panorama global de la demanda de empleo y la migracion interna, a la vez que describe los objetivos y metodologia del estudio. El analisis de la estructura economica, el desarrollo poblacional y la migracion interna asi como los cambios en la poblacion economicamente activa en Chile constituye el objeto del segundo capitulo. El capitulo tercero incluye un analisis teorico de la demanda de empleo en tanto que en el capitulo siguiente se discuten los problemas de especificacion y estimacion de las funciones de demanda de empleo en la manufactura. El capitulo 5 y final contiene un analisis empirico de las ecuaciones de demanda de empleo en la manufactura y la prueba de significacion estadistica de las ecuaciones estimadas anteriormente.
