Algunas reflexiones sobre los censos de 1980 en la perspectiva de la investigacion sociodemografica y las politicas de poblacion en America Latina

Abstract

Se analizan los problemas de informacion que enfrenta actualmente la investigacion de ciertas tematicas sociodemograficas (entendiendo por esto ultimo el estudio de la interrelacion entre fenomenos demograficos y fenomenos economicos y sociales). Se discuten algunas alternativas de solucion que podrian aportar los censos de poblacion que se levantaran en America Latina en la decada de 1980. La discusion se inicia con algunas reflexiones que pueden ayudar a aquilatar en toda su magnitud la repercusion de dichos censos, en lo que respecta a la investigacion sociodemografica y las politicas de poblacion en la region. Se presenta luego, las consideraciones especificas a cada area tematica: caracteristicas de los hogares y/o de las familias; fecundidad y familia (edad de la mujer al contraer matrimonio); migraciones internacionales intraregionales; grupos socio-economicos-heterogeneidad estructural (caracteristicas economicas de la poblacion).
