Abstract

A lo largo de cuatro sesiones, llevadas a cabo en CELADE-Santiago durante los primeros dias de Septiembre de 1975, el profesor Brass expone y analiza: a).estimacion de la mortalidad a partir de la distribucion por edades de las muertes; b).estimaciones de la mortalidad adulta a partir de informacion acerca de orfandad y viudez; c).estimaciones de la fecundidad total con informacion del numero medio de hijos por mujer y con datos de la Encuesta Mundial de Fecundidad, y d).mortalidad al principio de la vida, suponiendo que la mortalidad varia en el tiempo; mortalidad al principio de la vida, utilizando informacion de dos censos; y la encuesta demografica levantada en China en los anos 30.
