Abstract

Primeramente, se trata en forma general las preguntas retrospectivas que se han utilizado para estimaciones de mortalidad y fecundidad; en seguida, es presentada la descripcion metodologica y aplicacion practica de los metodos de estimacion de la mortalidad infantil y juvenil, la mortalidad femenina adulta y la construccion de la tabla de mortalidad femenina, para Nicaragua (1971), Guatemala (1973), y Honduras (1974); explicando finalmente como fue seleccionada la tabla estandar usada en cada pais.
