Abstract

La reunion, organizada por CELADE con el patrocinio del BID, tuvo como objetivo establecer las actividades desarrolladas por los gobiernos y organismos internacionales en el campo de las politicas de poblacion a la luz de las recomendaciones de la Segunda Reunion Latinoamericana de Poblacion; examinar los problemas y soluciones en la formacion de consejos de poblacion; identificar los temas de investigacion, capacitacion y asesoria prioritarios; y orientar futuras reuniones de este tipo. Las areas tematicas examinadas fueron la estructura y funciones de los organismos responsables de las politicas, la formulacion de las politicas y las experiencias en la implementacion de acciones especificas. Los acuerdos, detallados en el documento, contienen las sugerencias en torno a estas areas. Ademas de 14 paises de la region, participaron representantes de la Division de Poblacion de la NU, de la OMS, del CIME, del UNFPA, del UNICEF, del BID y de CEPAL-CELADE
